As we celebrate excellence in education within our community colleges, it is time to honor the remarkable efforts of our faculty. Through the Outstanding Educator Awards, the Michigan Occupational Dean’s Advisory Council (MODAC) board seeks to recognize outstanding performance during the academic year preceding the annual Trends in Occupational Studies Conference. We invite you to nominate individuals from your school who exemplify excellence in teaching.
There are three distinguished award categories, each with specific nomination criteria:
Faculty – Individual (regular full-time)
Faculty – Adjunct
Team – Faculty/Staff
The Individual award acknowledges regular full-time faculty from career programs. Each year, up to three (3) individual awards are presented to faculty nominees recognized as the most exceptional, determined by a panel of reviewers. Eligibility for the Adjunct award extends to faculty from career and technical programs, with one outstanding adjunct faculty nominee receiving the award annually.
The Team or Collaboration award spotlights the impact of an occupational faculty member on a team or collaborative effort involving various stakeholders:
At least one additional faculty member from the college
At least one additional non-faculty employee of the college
An adjunct/part-time faculty member from the college
An external colleague from another institution
A member of the business and industry environment served by the college
We encourage nominations for individuals, adjuncts, and teams from our colleges. Detailed criteria for nominations and nomination forms are provided in the attached documents.
ALL NOMINATIONS ARE DUE JUNE 16, 2025.
